The upcoming 2024 Abu Dhabi T10 League is set to feature a host of high-profile signings, with Pakistani cricketers Iftikhar Ahmed and Imad Wasim among the notable additions. The tournament is drawing attention as teams finalize their rosters ahead of the event, which will take place from November 21 to December 2.
Among the star-studded line-up, Afghanistan's Rashid Khan and India's Dinesh Karthik have signed with the Bangla Tigers, while England's Jos Buttler has joined the Deccan Gladiators alongside Marcus Stoinis. Buttler will reunite with retained players Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, and Maheesh Theekshana, further strengthening Gladiators' squad depth.
The New York Strikers, defending champions of the league, have retained their core players including Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, and Mohammad Amir. The team has also secured new signings Matheesha Pathirana and Donovan Ferreira, aiming to build on their success from last season.
In a significant move, Karthik, who has recently taken on the role of batting coach for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025, will be participating in his third franchise tournament since retiring from international cricket. He joins Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan and Ireland's Josh Little at the Bangla Tigers.
Other exciting signings include Trent Boult reuniting with Finn Allen at Northern Warriors, while Lockie Ferguson joins Team Abu Dhabi, which has also secured Jonny Bairstow and Shimron Hetmyer.
The Abu Dhabi T10 League is expanding this season to include ten teams, with Bolts Ajman and UP Nawabs as the new entrants. Matt Boucher, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub, expressed enthusiasm for the tournament.
"We're excited to deliver yet another world-class lineup at the 2024 Abu Dhabi T10, which has thrived since we brought the competition to the UAE capital," Matt Boucher, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub," said in a statement.
"Abu Dhabi is now a global centre for sport, and the Abu Dhabi T10 - approaching its sixth edition in the emirate - has played a significant part in making that vision of the government a reality."
