WAPDA's captain, Iftikhar Ahmed, has been fined 50% of his match fee for breaching level 1 of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. The incident took place during WAPDA’s first semi-final match against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) in the ongoing President’s Cup One-Day 2024-25 at Jinnah Stadium, Gujranwala.

The violation occurred when Iftikhar showed dissent after an umpire turned down his leg-before appeal during WAPDA’s bowling innings. The act was in breach of Article 2.8 of the PCB Code of Conduct, which addresses players' reactions to umpires' decisions.

On-field umpires Muhammad Asif and Zulfiqar Jan reported the incident, and match referee Iqbal Sheikh conducted the hearing. Iftikhar accepted the charges and agreed to the fine.

The President's Cup One-Day 2024-25 continues, but this serves as a reminder for players to maintain discipline during the tournament.
