Derogatory terms and snide remarks in cricket are, unfortunately, becoming a growing trend in Pakistan. Moreover, this is not the first time a player has been subjected to brutal criticism and chants like these.

Shan Masood, Pakistan's left-handed batsman faced 'parchi' remarks from spectators during the fifth one-day international (ODI) between Pakistan and New Zealand on Sunday.

However, the derogatory chants weren't unseen, as all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed was quick to take over his Twitter and condemn this behavior from the crowd. He stated that resorting to such language is indeed saddening. He has been a victim of such bullying in the past. He further appreciated Shan and remarked that the opener is the most 'hardworking' and 'fittest' player in the team.

Is video ko dekh ke bohat afsoos hua. Aisay taunts ka shikaar mein khud bhi raha hoon. @shani_official is one of the most hardworking & fittest player in the team with amazing work ethics. He has earned his spot through various performances & a lot of runs pic.twitter.com/9hj9JbDrmt

Former pacer, Muhammad Amir also took over his socials to condemn this act from the audiences.

ese fans ko Allah hi khush kar sakta hai ek player ni shan performance pe hi team me aya tha.i still believe shan is the most hard working player in pakistan cricket. https://t.co/Ejwee9x8nY

The incident highlights a growing trend of negativity and intolerance in Pakistani cricket culture, which has been condemned by many current and former players.

Iftikhar and Amir's condemnation of the "parchi" chants towards Shan shows that the players are committed to upholding the values of respect and sportsmanship in the game. It, however, depends on all the fans to follow this lead and ensure that cricket is enjoyed in a rather inclusive manner.
