Pakistan fast bowler, Ihsanullah, has provided insights into the challenges he faced, detailing the circumstances surrounding his injury and his ongoing rehabilitation process.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Ihsanullah expressed optimism about his rehabilitation, emphasizing the positive aspect of undergoing the process in Pakistan.

He commended the experienced medical professionals overseeing his recovery, particularly acknowledging the skill of the surgeon who conducted the operation.

“My rehab is going very well, and it is happening in Pakistan, which is a good thing. The doctors, who are treating me, are very experienced, and the operation I underwent was performed by Dr. Kamran Butt, who did a great job as well. I will make a comeback very soon,” Ihsanullah said.

The fast bowler provided details about the origin of his injury, narrating the unfortunate incident that took place during the New Zealand home series.

“The issue I faced, occurred during the New Zealand home series, and it happened during Ramadan. On the first day, everything went well; there was no pain in my shoulder. However, on the second day, I fell, and I didn't realize it at the time. Later, when I went to the nets for bowling, I felt pain in my elbow after putting extra force on the first ball. I played the series despite the pain. I wasn't sure what was happening, and I thought if it's a ligament issue, it can be treated. I was trying to play despite slight discomfort because the Afghanistan series was coming up, followed by the Asia Cup, and I wanted to be fit for those,” he revealed.

Providing a glimpse into his physical transformation during the rehabilitation process, the 21-year-old highlighted the improvements in his overall fitness.

“I am getting fitter than before. Initially, I was quite slim, and I was not aware of anything. There was no strength in my shoulder and my legs and now, I am improving in that aspect as well,” he concluded.
