All-rounder ended with figures of two wickets for 21 runs in his 20 balls
Jordan Thompson stole the spotlight at Emirates Old Trafford, defending two runs from the final three balls to secure an unlikely victory for Trent Rockets over Manchester Originals.
Thompson's critical dot ball was followed by Sikandar Raza's (21) run out while attempting a single, leaving the Originals needing two runs to win or one to tie off the final delivery.
Max Holden (40) hooked Thompson's last ball straight to Sam Hain, who clinched the match for the Rockets with a simple catch.
The Rockets had set a challenging target of 145-7, thanks to a solid start by opener Tom Banton (45) and powerful hitting from West Indies' Rovman Powell (27).
Despite the Originals' strong position during their chase, they faltered, losing five wickets in the last 22 balls, thanks mainly to Rashid Khan and Imad Wasim.
Imad Wasim, representing the Rockets, scored only four runs before being dismissed by Tom Hartley, caught by Jamie Overton.
However, Imad got his revenge on the duo with the ball, dismissing both Hartley and Overton in quick succession, ending with figures of two wickets for 21 runs in his 20 balls.
On the other hand, Usama Mir had a tough outing for Manchester, conceding 39 runs in 20 balls without taking a wicket.
