All-rounder Nida Dar is set to become the first women cricketer from Pakistan to be part of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) in Australia.

Dar will represent Sydney Thunder in the fifth edition of the league, which will run from October 18 to December 8.

Pakistan women’s team head coach Mark Coles played a major role in securing a contract for Dar in the league.

As a result of her contract with Sydney Thunder, Dar will not be available for Pakistan home series against Bangladesh women’s team, which is set to begin from October 26.

Earlier this year, Dar stormed into the record books with her 37-ball 75 run innings in the fourth T20 International (T20I) against the South Africa women team in Benoni.

The flamboyant all-rounder is expected leave for Australia on October 5.
