In the third Test match between India and Australia in Brisbane, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah put on a remarkable performance on day two, claiming 5 wickets for 72 runs. This impressive feat marked Bumrah's 12th five-wicket haul in Test cricket and his 8th against the 'Sena' nations – South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia.

With this performance, Bumrah surpassed former Indian all-rounder Kapil Dev's record, who had taken five or more wickets in a match against 'Sena' countries seven times. Bumrah's record-breaking performance now puts him at the top of the list, with Kapil Dev following in second place with 7 five-wicket hauls in these countries.

On day two of the Brisbane Test, Australia's batters aggressively posted 405 runs in their first innings, losing 7 wickets. Steve Smith contributed a solid 101, while Travis Head played a brilliant knock of 152. Alex Carey remained unbeaten at 45.

Bumrah's outstanding 5-wicket haul stood out as India’s best bowling performance. However, the first day of the Test saw only 13.2 overs of play due to rain interruptions.

By the end of day three, Australia had been bowled out for 445 runs. India faced a tough challenge, finishing the day at 51 for 4 in their second innings, as they continued to trail in the match.

Australia had won the second Test, while India emerged victorious in the first, bringing the series level at 1-1.
