Both players were found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct
India's Mohammad Siraj and Australia's Travis Head have been fined 20% of their match fees following an on-field altercation during the second Test between India and Australia. The incident occurred after Siraj bowled Head, leading to an exchange of words between the two players.
Both players were found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which covers actions or gestures likely to provoke an aggressive response. Additionally, Head was penalized under Article 2.13 for criticizing an umpire’s decision. Along with the fines, both players have been handed one demerit point each.
The match saw Australia deliver a dominant performance, beating India by 10 wickets to level the series at 1-1. Australia's bowlers, led by Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, dismantled India's batting lineup, and the openers comfortably chased the target on the fourth day.
The third Test of the series will take place at the Gabba starting on December 14.
