The rivalry between India and Australia reached new heights during the second Test at the Adelaide Oval, where a heated exchange took place between Australia's Travis Head and India’s Mohammed Siraj.

Head was in exceptional form, scoring 140 runs at a blistering pace, when Siraj dropped a catch off his batting. However, Siraj made up for the mistake by dismissing Head with a well-executed full toss, followed by an aggressive send-off. This sparked a verbal exchange between the two players.

Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, was asked about the incident after the match and responded, "To be honest, they can do whatever they want. I’m more worried about our boys and like always, I thought our boys’ behaviour was excellent this week, like it seems to be every week. So I’m happy with them." He continued, "It’s heated, it’s a big series, it’s been packed crowds all the days, so there’s a lot riding on it. I think the umpires stepped in pretty quickly and that was the end of it."

The match saw India struggling in their first innings, being bowled out for just 180 runs. Australia then built a 157-run lead thanks to Head’s remarkable century. India’s second innings also faltered, leaving Australia with a mere target of 19 runs, which they easily chased down to win by 10 wickets. The Border-Gavaskar Trophy series is now tied 1-1, with the third Test scheduled to start on December 14 at The Gabba in Brisbane.
