Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli etched his name in cricket history once again on Monday, becoming the fastest player to reach 27,000 international runs. He achieved this milestone during the second Test match against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

Kohli surpassed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar's record of reaching 27,000 runs in 623 innings. The former Indian captain accomplished this feat in just 594 innings, showcasing his remarkable consistency and batting prowess.

Other cricket greats who have crossed the 27,000-run mark include former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara.
