The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the 15-man squad for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa, set to commence on November 8, 2024. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team, stepping into the captaincy role as India looks to make a mark in the four-match series.

Notably, the squad will be without the pace of Mayank Yadav, who debuted in the previous series against Bangladesh, and all-rounder Riyan Parag, both sidelined due to injuries. Shivam Dube, who was also unavailable for the Bangladesh series because of an injury, continues to be out of contention.

The BCCI provided further details regarding the absentees, stating, "Mayank Yadav and Shivam Dube were unavailable for selection owing to injuries." In addition, Riyan Parag is currently undergoing a "long-term resolution" for a chronic right shoulder injury at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.

The squad sees the inclusion of three players receiving their first international call-up. Batter Ramandeep Singh has been recognized for his impressive performances with the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 and the Emerging Teams Asia Cup earlier this month. Joining him are bowlers Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yash Dayal, who recently made his Test debut in October.

The T20I series against South Africa will consist of four matches, with the final match scheduled for November 15, 2024.
