India and Zimbabwe are set to face off in the third T20I of their five-match series at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday, July 10. The series is currently tied at 1-1, with both teams eager to take the lead.
In the first T20I, Zimbabwe stunned India by defending a modest target of 116, bowling India out for just 102. Sikandar Raza's captaincy played a crucial role in their victory. However, India came back strongly in the second T20I, posting a massive 234/2. Abhishek Sharma scored his first international century, while Ruturaj Gaikwad added a quick half-century. Rinku Singh also contributed with a rapid 48 not out from 22 balls. In response, Zimbabwe managed only 134, with Mukesh Kumar and Avesh Khan taking three wickets each.
For India, captain Shubman Gill's form has been a concern, scoring 31 and 2 in the first two games. He will be looking to make a significant impact in the third match. Mukesh Kumar has been effective with the new ball, and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has troubled the Zimbabwean batters, conceding only 24 runs and taking six wickets in the series so far.
Zimbabwe will be relying on Wesley Madhevere to anchor their innings, while Brian Bennett has shown promise in his recent performances. Sikandar Raza, who hasn't contributed much with the bat in the first two games, will be keen to score runs. Blessing Muzarabani has been Zimbabwe's standout bowler, causing problems for the Indian batters, and he will aim to continue his good form in the next match.
Both teams have a lot to play for as they aim to take the lead in this closely contested series.
