India set the cricketing world abuzz with astonishing achievements during the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur. On the fourth day of the match, the Indian team established new records for the fastest team hundred and fastest team double hundred in Test cricket history.

India's explosive start was led by Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who propelled the team to 50 runs in a mere three overs. The duo formed a blistering 55-run partnership, with Rohit hammering 19 runs off just six balls, including three sixes, while Jaiswal raced to 30 runs from only 13 deliveries. This remarkable performance enabled India to secure the record for the fastest team fifty in just three overs.

Despite the early loss of Rohit, the aggressive batting continued as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill propelled India to the fastest team hundred in Test cricket. The milestone was achieved in just 10.1 overs, breaking India's previous record of 12.2 overs set against the West Indies in Port of Spain in 2023.

The Indian batting lineup showcased relentless aggression, with Virat Kohli contributing 47 runs off 35 balls and KL Rahul adding 68 runs off 43 deliveries. This powerhouse performance culminated in India shattering the record for the fastest team score of 200 in Test cricket, reaching the milestone in just 24.2 overs. The previous record was held by Australia, who achieved 200 runs in 28.1 overs against Pakistan in Sydney in 2017.

Additionally, India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made headlines as he became the second-fastest player in Test cricket to achieve the remarkable double milestone of 3,000 runs and 300 wickets, following England’s Ian Botham. Jadeja reached this milestone in just 74 Tests, just shy of Botham's record of 72.

He is now the 11th player globally to accomplish this feat and the third Indian, joining the elite company of Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin. Moreover, Jadeja is the fourth-fastest Indian to reach 300 Test wickets, trailing Ashwin (54 matches), Anil Kumble (66), and Harbhajan Singh (72).
