India is set to take on Bangladesh in their Super Eight match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The match is set to start at 7:30 PM PST .

India, led by Rohit Sharma, is on a mission to end a long drought in ICC tournaments. The team’s last major triumph was the Champions Trophy in 2013. Despite their immense talent, India has not won a T20 World Cup since MS Dhoni's leadership in the inaugural 2007 tournament.

This year, the Men in Blue have demonstrated their dominance with a flawless group stage performance, registering victories against Ireland, arch-rivals Pakistan, and co-hosts USA. Although their final group match against Canada was washed out, India advanced confidently into the Super Eight phase.

In their first Super Eight match, India secured a convincing win over Afghanistan, posting a formidable total of 181 runs and bowling out their opponents for 134. With another win on Saturday, India could potentially secure a semi-final berth, especially if Australia secures a win in their match.

Bangladesh, captained by Najmul Hossain Shanto, faces a crucial challenge after suffering a heavy defeat against Australia in their Super Eight opener. The team needs a victory against India to keep their hopes alive of advancing to the semi-finals for the first time in T20 World Cup history.

The Tigers have had a commendable journey so far, overcoming a tough group stage with wins over Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and Nepal, finishing second behind the unbeaten South Africans. However, their encounter against Australia revealed vulnerabilities as they could only muster 140 runs, falling short when the match was cut short by rain.

Bangladesh will need a significantly improved performance to challenge the formidable Indian side. They aim to recover from their recent losses and build on the momentum gained from reaching this stage of the competition. Notably, their last encounter with India in a warm-up game resulted in a 60-run defeat, which underscores the need for a stronger showing in this crucial match.
