Fresh claims have emerged from Indian media regarding the ICC Champions Trophy controversy. According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to the proposed Fusion Model for matches involving Pakistan and India. However, the BCCI has added a condition: while group-stage ICC matches involving Pakistan could be played at neutral venues, if Pakistan qualifies for the semifinals or final, it would have to play in India.

On the other hand, sources within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have dismissed these claims as not worth commenting on. The PCB reiterated its firm stance that all ICC matches between Pakistan and India must adhere to the Fusion Model and be held at neutral venues. PCB sources emphasized that there will be no compromise on their principled position.

Meanwhile, the ICC Champions Trophy discussions remain in limbo as ICC Chairman Jay Shah has traveled to Brisbane. Shah is reportedly attending an Olympic meeting and plans to watch the third Test match between Australia and India. His departure, leaving unresolved matters behind, has added another layer of complexity to the ongoing debate.
