In the first Test, played at Optus Stadium in Perth, India defeated Australia by a commanding 295 runs. Batting first, India was bowled out for just 150 runs. However, Indian bowlers dominated, dismissing Australia for a mere 104 runs with Jasprit Bumrah taking fifer. In the second innings, India posted a strong total of 487/6 before declaring their innings. Australia, chasing a target of 534, was bowled out for 238, handing India a comprehensive victory. Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance, taking 8 wickets for 72 runs in the match.
The second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between Australia and India will begin on December 6 in Adelaide. India currently leads the five-match series 1-0.
