Following the recent incident in Pahalgam, uncertainty now looms over the Indian cricket team’s scheduled tour of Bangladesh and the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, as tensions between Pakistan and India continue to rise.

According to Indian media reports, the limited-overs series — which includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals — may be postponed due to the growing political strain between the two neighboring countries.

Reports also suggest that the recent change in government in Bangladesh, which saw former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid step down, has further complicated matters. The new Bangladeshi administration is said to be showing closer alignment with Pakistan, raising concerns in New Delhi.

In response to the evolving situation, the Indian government is reportedly reassessing its cricketing relations with neighboring countries. The fate of the Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to be held in India, is also now uncertain.

As a potential alternative to the Bangladesh tour, India may consider organizing additional matches against South Africa or Australia to fill the gap in their cricket calendar.
