The highly awaited IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), set to take place on Tuesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, is under threat due to the forecast of bad weather.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rain is expected in the city on Tuesday, with a 50 to 75 percent chance of showers in the evening and night. Thunderstorms have also been predicted, increasing concerns about a possible delay or even cancellation of the final.

Weather conditions on Monday evening were already unstable, and rain earlier disrupted the second Qualifier between PBKS and Mumbai Indians. With similar conditions forecasted for Tuesday, players, fans, and organizers are bracing for potential interruptions.

Although hot and humid weather is expected during the day, rain chances rise significantly in the evening—right when the match is scheduled to begin.

As per IPL rules, an additional two hours have been set aside to make up for any weather-related delays on the night of the final. If the match cannot be completed on Tuesday, it will continue on the reserve day, Wednesday.

However, if rain washes out both days, Punjab Kings will be declared champions as they finished higher than RCB on the league table.

Tuesday’s final promises to deliver a historic moment regardless of the outcome, as neither RCB nor PBKS has ever won the IPL title. RCB have reached the final three times before, while PBKS last played in the title match in 2014.

PBKS sealed their spot in the final with a commanding win over Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier. Skipper Venkatesh Iyer led the way with a match-winning 87* off just 41 balls.

Now, with a new champion guaranteed, all eyes are on the skies in Ahmedabad.
