Gujarat Titans climbed to the top of the IPL 2025 points table after securing a dominant 58-run win over Rajasthan Royals in Match 23 of the tournament at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

Put in to bat first, the Titans posted an imposing total of 217/6, thanks to a brilliant 82-run knock from opener Sai Sudharsan. The left-hander played a composed innings, scoring his runs off 53 deliveries with eight fours and three sixes. He anchored the innings and shared key partnerships with Jos Buttler and M Shahrukh Khan, both of whom contributed 36 runs each.

Finishing touches were provided by Rahul Tewatia, who smashed an unbeaten 24 off just 12 balls, which included two fours and two sixes, taking Gujarat to a strong finish.

For Rajasthan Royals, Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana picked up two wickets apiece, while Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer claimed one each.

In response, Rajasthan Royals failed to match the pace of the chase and were bowled out for 159 in 19.2 overs. Shimron Hetmyer was the top scorer for the visitors, hitting 52 off 32 balls. Captain Sanju Samson added 41, and Riyan Parag chipped in with 26 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled.

Prasidh Krishna was the standout performer with the ball for Gujarat, finishing with figures of 3/24 in four overs. Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore supported well with two wickets each, while Kulwant Khejroliya, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshad Khan took one wicket each.

With this comprehensive win, Gujarat Titans moved to the top of the IPL 2025 standings with eight points from five matches. Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals remain in seventh place with four points from five games.
