Sri Lankan players also made progress despite the series loss
Ireland's women's cricket team has seen a significant boost in the latest ICC Women's Player Rankings following their impressive ODI series victory over Sri Lanka. The series win has led to a number of Irish players making notable strides in the rankings.
All-rounder Orla Prendergast has been one of the biggest movers, climbing nine places to 28th in the ODI batting rankings after scoring an unbeaten century in the opening match. Leah Paul also made a strong impact, moving up four spots to 29th after being named Player of the Match in the second game.
Amy Hunter, another key player for Ireland, has risen 10 places to reach 34th in the ODI batting rankings. On the bowling side, Arlene Kelly's three-wicket haul in the second match has earned her a jump of three spots to 27th among ODI bowlers.
Sri Lankan players also made progress despite the series loss. Nilakshika Silva, Kavisha Dilhari, and Vishmi Gunaratne have all advanced in the rankings. Dilhari, in particular, made gains in both the bowling and all-rounder categories, rising to 30th for bowlers and 17th for all-rounders.
The T20I rankings have seen similar movements following the tied series between Ireland and Sri Lanka. Harshitha Samarawickrama's consistent performances, including back-to-back half-centuries, have moved her up to 13th in the T20I batting rankings. Ireland's Gaby Lewis also made a significant leap, reaching 21st after her century in the second match.
Dilhari and Prendergast continue to impress as all-rounders in the T20I rankings, moving up to 15th and 17th, respectively.
