Pakistan Shaheens secured a commanding victory in their final group match against the ACT Comets, thanks to a brilliant century by Irfan Khan Niazi in the ongoing Top End T20 series.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, the Shaheens found themselves in trouble early on, losing four wickets for just 48 runs during the powerplay.

However, the momentum shifted dramatically as Irfan Khan, alongside Haseebullah, forged a crucial 140-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Irfan Khan was the star of the show, smashing 106 runs off 56 deliveries, including 14 boundaries and two sixes, at a blistering strike rate of 189.29.

Haseebullah also played a key role, remaining unbeaten with 49 runs off 34 balls, featuring four boundaries and one six at a strike rate of 144.12.

The Shaheens posted a formidable total of 202 runs, putting the ACT Comets under immediate pressure.

The Comets struggled throughout their innings, losing wickets at regular intervals and failing to build any significant partnerships.

Tyler Van Luin was the top scorer for the Comets with 29 runs off 17 deliveries, while Zak Keogh contributed 26 runs off 20 balls.

Despite their efforts, the Comets were bowled out for just 111 runs within 17 overs losing the match by 91 runs.

Arif Yaqoob was the standout performer with the ball for the Shaheens, taking four wickets for just 17 runs in his three overs.

Arafat Minhas also impressed, claiming three wickets for 22 runs in 3.1 overs. Mubassir Khan and Faisal Akram chipped in with two and one wicket, respectively, sealing a comprehensive victory for the Shaheens.
