Pakistan star batter, Babar Azam's future as the captain of  white-ball team seems uncertain after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided not to appoint him as captain for the upcoming Champions One Day Cup, as reported by local news channel.

Sources have revealed that Pakistan could appoint a new white-ball captain for the upcoming tour of Australia, with Babar's future in the role being uncertain. There is speculation that Mohammad Rizwan, the current vice-captain, could be named as the new leader.

Further more, white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten has reportedly discussed the captaincy issue with board officials and Babar Azam earlier this year. Discussions are expected to center around Rizwan's potential appointment.

Additionally, sources suggest that if Rizwan is confirmed as captain, he could be considered for leadership roles across all three formats of the game in the future.
