India secured their third ICC Men’s Champions Trophy title with a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Chasing 252, India reached the target comfortably, losing six wickets with six balls to spare.
Rohit Sharma top-scored with 76 runs off 83 balls, while Shubman Gill contributed 31 before being dismissed. After a brief collapse, Axar Patel and Shreyas Iyer steadied the innings with a 61-run partnership, but both were dismissed quickly. Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul then put together a 38-run partnership, with Rahul finishing unbeaten on 34 off 33 balls to guide India to victory.
New Zealand, who opted to bat first, managed 251/7. Daryl Mitchell top-scored with 63 runs, while Michael Bracewell remained unbeaten on 53. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy claimed two wickets each for India, while Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami took one each.
This victory marks India’s third Champions Trophy title, following their previous wins in 2002 and 2013.
