The term "primate," which scientifically refers to a group of mammals including humans and apes, was deemed offensive and discriminatory by Indian fans. The comment sparked backlash on social media platforms, with fans criticizing the choice of words.
Acknowledging her mistake, Guha later issued an apology on-air. "I used the wrong term while appreciating Bumrah's performance. It was an error in word choice, and I sincerely apologize for it," she said.
