Islamabad United have announced a temporary replacement for England batter Alex Hales, who left the remainder of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season seven due to bio bubble fatigue.

Northern opener Nasir Nawaz has been drafted into the United squad. He will be up for the selection in today's match against Peshawar Zalmi.

The 23-year-old was a reserve player in the managed event environment. He will act as Hales' replacement for the next two matches.

It must be noted that Islamabad United is also hurt by the injuries of captain Shadab Khan, Colin Munro and Zeeshan Zameer. Asif Ali will lead the side in Shadab's absence while Zahid Mahmood is named backup.

United are at third on the points table with eight points and four wins in seven games. The match against Zalmi today will act as a virtual quarter-final as the winning side will make their chances bright to qualify for the playoffs stage.
