Vince questioned why the ECB allows players to participate in the IPL but not in the PSL
English cricketer James Vince has spoken out against the double standards of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). Vince expressed frustration over the separate rules for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL), which have led to dissatisfaction among English players.
Vince pointed out that the PSL is a shorter tournament, and players who participate in it do not miss out on domestic commitments. On the other hand, he said the IPL is a longer tournament, and it was unnecessary for domestic players to take part in it.
Vince questioned why the ECB allows players to participate in the IPL but not in the PSL. He speculated that this disparity might be due to the relationship between the two cricket boards.
He also suggested that if more English players were picked in the PSL draft, other players might consider giving up their domestic red-ball contracts as well. However, Vince noted that PSL teams have often avoided selecting English players due to concerns about No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Vince criticized the ECB’s new policy, stating that it has not been beneficial for English cricketers. Recently, James Vince canceled his red-ball contract to participate in the PSL.
