Former Pakistan red-ball team coach Jason Gillespie has once again spoken out regarding his experience with the Pakistan team.

In a recent interview, the former Australian fast bowler shared candid thoughts about his time coaching in Pakistan, saying, "My experience in Pakistan has dampened my love for coaching."

Gillespie, who had a brief stint as Pakistan’s red-ball coach and later served as the interim white-ball coach following Gary Kirsten’s departure, revealed how disheartening the entire episode was for him.

“It was a huge blow. I was deeply disappointed by how things ended. It made me question whether I even wanted to return to full-time coaching,” Gillespie said.

Continuing his remarks, the former head coach admitted, “To be honest, the experience left me drained. I currently have no interest in coaching at all. Even if Australia were to offer me a coaching role today, I’d politely decline—I’m simply not interested right now.”

Gillespie's coaching journey with Pakistan came to an end after a short period. Once Gary Kirsten stepped down, Gillespie temporarily took over as the white-ball coach. However, he also exited the coaching setup shortly after, paving the way for Aaqib Javed to take over as interim head coach.

Following his resignation, Gillespie claimed in an interview that Aaqib Javed had actively campaigned for the coaching role—an allegation that stirred significant controversy at the time.
