England has recalled opening batsman Jason Roy for the three-match one-day international series against Australia after the Twenty20 World Cup.

The team includes wicketkeeper Sam Billings, batter James Vince, and fast bowler Olly Stone.

In addition to the nine T20 World Cup squad members, Luke Wood and Liam Dawson are in Australia as backups.

Harry Brook, Mark Wood, Alex Hales, Liam Livingstone, and Tymal Mills are excluded from the series.

England's red-ball captain Ben Stokes, who is in the squad for the T20 World Cup, retired from ODIs in July.

Stokes, Brook, Wood, and Livingstone will join the Test team before the 1 December start of the test series against Pakistan.

Roy was not selected for the World Cup due to a poor run of form; his highest score in 11 international innings was 43. In The Hundred, he scored 51 runs in six innings for Oval Invincibles, including three ducks.

Vince has participated in 19 ODIs, with his first international century coming against Pakistan in July 2021. Billings, age 31, completed his 25 ODIs earlier in the same month.

Stone is one of England's quickest bowlers, but he has battled fitness concerns throughout his career, notably a recurring back ailment.

He also fractured his finger earlier this summer, but he can now add to his four ODIs, three Tests, and one T20 appearance.

Luke Wood, a seamer from Lancashire, has appeared in two Twenty20 internationals for England but none One-Day Internationals.

The series begins in Adelaide on November 17, followed by matches in Sydney and Melbourne on November 19 and November 22, respectively.

England squad: Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Chris Jordan, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Phil Salt, Olly Stone, James Vince, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Luke Wood
