A four-day training camp for the Pakistan women's cricket team in preparation for the upcoming ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 commenced at the Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre in Karachi on Wednesday morning. The women's national selection committee has invited 28 cricketers to the camp to evaluate their performances before finalizing the squad for the event in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

Throughout the camp, the players will participate in practice sessions at the High-Performance Centre on Friday, and play T20 practice matches at the Moin Khan Academy on Thursday and Saturday. The camp is being overseen by Abdur Rehman and Hanif Malik.

Additionally, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the team management for the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2024. Muhammad Wasim will serve as the head coach, with former Test bowlers Abdur Rehman and Junaid Khan appointed as the spin bowling and assistant coaches, respectively.

The eight-team ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup is scheduled to take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, from July 19 to 28. Pakistan is placed in Group ‘A’ along with India, Nepal, and the UAE. They will face their arch-rivals India on the opening day of the tournament, followed by matches against Nepal on July 21 and the UAE on July 23.
