South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has sent a strong message to Australia, saying his team is already planning to beat them in the upcoming 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) Final. The Proteas are preparing for a tough match against Australia at Lord’s in June.

Rabada played a key role in South Africa’s dominant 10-wicket win over Pakistan in Cape Town, taking six wickets and helping his team secure their seventh straight Test victory. This win followed a narrow two-wicket victory in Centurion.

In a recent interview, Rabada shared his excitement for the upcoming WTC Final against Australia, acknowledging the fierce rivalry between the two teams. “South Africa versus Australia has always been an intense rivalry because we play cricket quite similarly. We play hard – and they’re going to come hard at us, and we know that. But we also know how to beat them,” said Rabada.

Rabada’s confidence is backed by South Africa’s recent success in Test cricket, their strongest format at the moment. “Test cricket is our best format right now,” he said. “When you look at South African cricket and all our legends, they’ve all been great Test cricketers. The world’s best players are Test cricketers, and this series against Pakistan has been a wonderful advertisement for Test cricket, especially in South Africa.”

The WTC Final between South Africa and Australia will take place from June 11-15, 2025, at Lord’s. This will be Australia’s second consecutive WTC Final, having won the 2021-23 edition by defeating India.
