Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal, who has been out of the team for a long time, has suggested choosing the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup squad based on the conditions of Australia.

Akmal made these claims while talking to the media and admitted that he has no place in the squad, especially in the presence of Mohammad Rizwan, backup Sarfaraz Ahmed, and other candidates such as Azam Khan.

"Pakistan's squad for the T20 World Cup should not be selected based on friendship. The team should be selected on merit and based on the conditions of Australia. I do not get a place in the T20 World Cup squad of the national cricket team," Akmal claimed.

The fellow wicket-keeper went on to praise Mohammad Rizwan, who has showcased nothing but class in the shortest format of the game.

"He has been terrific in T20Is and at this moment, no one can replace him," Akmal added.

Kamran Akmal, although has not been part of Pakistan's national team, has been featuring regularly in T20 competitions across the globe. He has recently been named the Icon Player by Bagh Stallions for the second edition of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL).

"Cricket fans are very enthusiastic about KPL, and to improve the quality of the tournament, we have to play good cricket in the tournament. KPL is the best opportunity for local young players to prove themselves and that young players should get experience from senior players," he added.

The second edition of the tournament will kick off on August 11 and will commence after two weeks on August 25. The matches will be played at the Muzaffarabad Cricket Stadium.
