Kamran advised PCB to hold Chief Selector accountable for his selections
Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal believes middle-order batsman Usman Salahuddin is Pakistan’s best option for number six position in Test cricket.
While speaking on his YouTube channel, the 39-year-old also questioned the exclusion of this season Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s highest run-scorer, Kamran Ghulam.
“Usman Salahuddin has performed for the past two years in domestic. He is your best option for number six if you go in with three pacers and one spinner in Tests. He should be given an opportunity,” said Kamran.
“What is Kamran Ghulam’s fault? Selectors say they have made a team based on domestic performances. If Kamran doesn’t feature in your top 20 players, then who will? The players they have selected leave their wicket once they face two bouncers. But Kamran is not part of the team despite scoring the most runs this season,” he added.

Kamran advised Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani and Chief Executive Wasim Khan to intervene and hold Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim accountable for his selections.
“PCB Chairman and Wasim Khan should look over this matter. Chief Selector can’t announce the team without the Chairman’s approval. They should ask the Chief Selector that on what basis a certain player has been selected. You are ignoring your domestic cricket and selecting based on performances in PSL. It has been going on for the past four years,” he said.
