In a video shared by PCB, Williamson said: "It's really exciting to be playing cricket back in Pakistan.
The 32-year-old said it would be a big challenge for the Blackcaps to face the Men in Green at their own venues as they are led by the best batter in the world, Babar Azam.
"Pakistan has a team formidable in all formats. We know it's a tough task but one challenge we look forward to as a team is that they are always balanced."
"Babar is at the top of the world. As I said, it's a big challenge," he maintained.
From December 27-January 15, the Blackcaps will defend their World Test Championship title across two Tests and three World Cup Super League contests.
The last time New Zealand played a Test match in Karachi was in October of 1990.
On the first part of their tour, Williamson and his team will play Test matches in Karachi from December 27-31 and in Multan from January 4-8. Then, on January 11-15, the squad will return to the harbour town for three more ICC Super League contests.
There will be five Twenty20 Internationals and the same number of One-Day Internationals on the tour's second leg. Karachi will play host to four T20 Internationals between April 13 and 19, while Lahore will host one T20 and two ODIS between April 23 and 28.
On May 1-4, Rawalpindi will host three One-Day Internationals as part of the series' conclusion.
