Karachi Kings will face Quetta Gladiators in the penultimate round-robin stage match of the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six in Abu Dhabi.

Karachi need a win to qualify for the playoffs, meanwhile Quetta are already out of contention for the final four.

If Karachi don’t win, Lahore Qalandars will qualify for the playoffs stage.

Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and table-toppers Islamabad United have already qualified for the playoffs. Sultans can only be eliminated if they lose to Islamabad, in the second match today, by around 300 runs — which seems unlikely.

Shahnawaz Dahani’s exceptional figures of four for five and a brisk half-century from Sohaib Maqsood helped Multan Sultans to a resounding 80-run win over Lahore Qalandars in the 28th match of HBL PSL 6 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Friday.

The win took Sultans to second spot on the points table with 10 points from nine games.

Qalandars, who suffered their fourth loss in a row, are down to fourth spot of the six-team table with ten points from ten matches.

Karachi are currently placed in fifth position with eight points after nine games.
