Karachi Kings registered an unwanted record for themselves after losing seven matches in the seventh season of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL.

Babar Azam led side have now lost the most number of matches consecutively in a single edition.

The record which they will not be very proud of as they were close to registering the first win in HBL PSL 7.

Previously Lahore Qalandars had the record of most consecutive losses in one season as they lost six matches in HBL PSL 2018.

Karachi Kings, who never get going in HBL PSL 7 had the best chance to get off the mark and upset Islamabad United.

Kings won the toss and elected to field and by far showcased their best performance of this season. Chasing 192, they were out of the game when they lost five wickets in the eleventh over with only 80 runs on the board, but there was a twist in the tale as Pakistan U19 captain Qasim Akram and former captain of Karachi Kings Imad Wasim added 108 runs off just 52 balls.

Both the batters scored their half-centuries and almost got the Kings through.

Eight runs were required of the last over where Imad Wasim managed to get a boundary on the second ball of the over requiring only four runs off the final four balls.

Waqas Maqsood kept his cool and got rid of Imad Wasim and managed to defend three runs of last three balls.

The Kings are now out of the HBL PSL 7 but they still have three more matches remaining against Multan Sultans, Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators.

They have no chance to qualify for the playoffs but still, they can ruin the chances for the Gladiators. Karachi will be up against Multan tomorrow and would like to end its losing streak by finally getting some points on the board. Despite the loss last night the Kings have some positives to talk about and would like to end their tournament on a high.
