Karachi is considered an alternative venue for England's historic first Test in Pakistan due to political unrest in Rawalpindi, the original venue for the series opener from December 1.
Ben Stokes' side will play three ICC Test Championship matches in Pakistan next month. As per sources, Karachi's National Bank Cricket Arena is likely to host the first and third Tests of the series.

In view of PTI's long march and protests, plan 'B' is under consideration. As per the announced schedule, England will arrive in Islamabad on November 27.
The first Test will be played in Rawalpindi from December 1, the second in Multan from December 9, third from December 17 in Karachi.
Currently, no decision has been taken to change the schedule and the final decision will be taken only after consultation with all stakeholders in a few days.
