In HBL PSL 6, Peshawar Zalmi's Kamran Akmal was previously placed in the Platinum category
Wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal, who represents Peshawar Zalmi in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), is surprised after being demoted to the Gold category from Platinum as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed an updated list of local players' categories for season seven.
Yesterday, PCB announced HBL PSL 7's schedule, draft details and renewed local players' categories. The 39-year-old thinks that the management should reconsider his placement as he is the second-highest run-scorer of PSL. Only Karachi Kings' Babar Azam is ahead of him.
Imran bhai I am very surprised…Its something that management should see that I am second highest scorer..

Meanwhile, few others are also demoted to the Diamond category from Platinum. The names are Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Sohail Tanvir and Mohammad Amir.
In the biggest moves, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter and Multan Sultans' captain Mohammad Rizwan (previously Silver), Asif Ali of Islamabad United (previously Gold) and Lahore Qalandars’ Haris Rauf (previously Diamond) have been placed in Platinum Category.
Multan Sultans’ Sohaib Maqsood, who was Player of HBL PSL 6, and Haider Ali of Peshawar Zalmi have moved up from Silver and Gold Categories to Diamond Category, respectively.
