Former West Indies cricket star Kieron Pollard has taken on a new role as an assistant coach for the England men's cricket team in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

The 37-year-old Pollard was spotted in Barbados during the team's initial training session, signaling his active involvement with the defending champions.

Pollard's appointment as assistant coach alongside Matthew Mott was confirmed last December, adding depth to England's coaching staff as they aim to secure consecutive titles in the tournament, held across the West Indies and the United States.

With an illustrious cricket career behind him, Pollard brings a wealth of experience, having represented West Indies in 101 T20 Internationals. He played a pivotal role in the team's T20 World Cup triumph in 2012 and captained them during the 2021 edition. Although he retired from international cricket in 2022, Pollard remains active in various franchise leagues around the world.

Notably, Pollard led the New York Strikers to victory in the Abu Dhabi T10 League last year and guided the Trinbago Knight Riders to the final of the CPL 2023. He recently contributed to MI Emirates' triumph in the ILT20 2024 and represented the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine. Additionally, he serves as the batting coach for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
