KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma break world record against Pakistan

Indian opening pair of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma has broken the world record for scoring the most 50+ partnerships in the T20I format.

The previous record was held by Ireland duo Kevin O'Brien and Paul Stirling who both made 13 half-century opening stands since they started playing together on the international stage.

The Indian pair, however, broke the record as they faced Pakistan for the second time in the Asia Cup 2022.

KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma both scored 28 runs each off 20 and 16 balls respectively. Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf were responsible for their departure from the crease.
