Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad has praised India's Virat Kohli, emphasizing that Kohli is a generational legend in cricket who should not be compared to anyone else.

While speaking to the media in Dubai, Shehzad highlighted Kohli's pivotal role in India's victory at the T20 World Cup, stating that without Kohli's innings in the final, India would not have ended their ICC trophy drought.

"Virat Kohli is a legend of our generation. Every time he stepped onto the field, his passion for the game shone through. Even in his final T20I, Virat was celebrating at long-on and long-off whenever a wicket fell. Though he didn't score heavily throughout the T20 World Cup, destiny favored him when it mattered most," Shehzad said.

The right-hand batter also went on to commend the former Indian skipper for standing tall when other batsmen faltered, underscoring his crucial runs in the final match.

He wished the Indian team luck in finding a suitable replacement for the 35-year-old, asserting that Kohli's legacy in T20Is is unmatched.

"India would not have clinched the T20 World Cup without Virat Kohli's innings. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy. Good luck to Indian Cricket as they endeavor to fill his enormous shoes. Comparisons with players like Babar Azam or others should not diminish Kohli's stature," he concluded.

It is worth noting that the Indian team had a successful T20 World Cup campaign, remaining unbeaten throughout and securing the title for the second time after 17 years.

This accomplishment makes India the third team, alongside England and West Indies, to win the T20 World Cup twice.
