After celebrating India's T20 World Cup win with a big victory parade in Mumbai, cricket star Virat Kohli rushed to London to see his family. The Indian cricket team had a busy schedule after winning the World Cup, which ended with a grand parade in Mumbai.
The team arrived in Delhi on July 4 and met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They then flew to Mumbai on the same day for the victory parade. The parade, which started late in the evening, took place on an open-top bus and wound through the crowded streets of Mumbai, ending at Wankhede Stadium. Fans cheered and celebrated with the team late into the night.
Despite the long day, Kohli didn’t rest. After the parade ended around midnight, he quickly headed to the airport to catch a flight to London. His wife, Anushka Sharma, and their children, Vaamika and Akaay, are currently in London. Anushka had been with the team during their USA matches but traveled to the UK ahead of the West Indies games.
Kohli had a very long travel day. He flew for about 16 hours to get from the Caribbean to Delhi, then flew to Mumbai for the victory celebrations. After a day filled with events and parades, he boarded another flight to London, all in just one day.
Kohli was very excited to see his family. He has often talked about how much he values his wife Anushka's patience and calmness. He said that she has helped him learn to be more patient and to keep fighting even when things are tough.
During the World Cup, Kohli had a tough time, scoring only 75 runs in seven games before the final. But in the final match against South Africa, he played really well, scoring 76 runs and winning the Man of the Match award. After the game, Kohli was seen video-calling his family to share the joy of victory.
Now, after the celebrations in Mumbai, Kohli is looking forward to relaxing with his loved ones in London.
