KPL 2022: Amir named icon player of defending champions Rawalakot Hawks

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has been named the icon player of Rawalakot Hawks for second season of Kashmir Premier League, the franchise announced on Thursday.

The left-arm pacer has been quite active playing various T20 leagues across the world. "Just wanted to say thank you to Rawalakot Hawks for signing me as an icon player for KPL season two. I'm glad and looking forward and can't wait to join my team. See you all soon," Amir said in a video statement.

The 30-year-old Amir has represented Pakistan in 50 T20 internationals, taking a total of 59 wickets. In 219 T20 matches, he has taken 248 wickets at an impressive average of 22.84. 

Head coach Rawalkot Hawks Arshad Khan said Amir is an experienced bowler in this format and his inclusion will strengthen the team.

The season two of KPL will kick off from August 11.
