West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite has expressed determination to make a comeback in the second Test against Pakistan, aiming to level the series. Speaking at a press conference at Multan Cricket Stadium, Brathwaite emphasized the importance of resilience and confidence as his team prepares for the challenges posed by spin-friendly conditions.

Acknowledging the difficulty of the pitch in the previous match, Brathwaite stated, “The players need to trust themselves and play courageously. The goal is to put up a bigger score this time and win the match to level the series.”

The skipper also confirmed that veteran fast bowler Kemar Roach has been added to the squad, bolstering their bowling attack with experience. He admitted that Pakistan has been capitalizing on their home advantage with spin-friendly tracks but remained optimistic about his team’s preparation. “We are aware of the challenges these spinning pitches pose, but we’ve worked hard and are ready to face them,” he said.

Brathwaite praised left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican for his impressive performance in the first Test, expressing confidence in his ability to excel once again. “Warrican bowled brilliantly in the first Test, and we expect him to deliver a strong performance in the second match as well,” he added.

The second Test will be played in Multan tomorrow, January 25.
