Tech Front International FZE had obtained the PSL international media rights from 2019 to 2021
The concerned parties have opted for the legal approach after the end of the Pakistan Super League’s international media rights contract. Tech Front has asked for a stay for financial relief whereas the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked the court of international arbitration in London (LCIA) for reimbursement to the losses faced by the board. Both cases will be heard in Pakistan.
According to details, Tech Front International FZE had obtained the PSL international media rights from 2019 to 2021. The PCB however had parted ways with the company last month after their failure to pay dues along with multiple serious breaches of contract.

The dates for the cases are expected to be announced shortly. A PCB representative, when asked to comment on the matter, claimed that reaching out to the court of arbitration in case a reimbursement of losses was needed. The PCB is now acting on the clause mentioned in the contract.
The company has reached out for temporary relief in this regard as well. The representative further claimed that the PCB is contact with various international broadcasting authorities and licensees for the international broadcast of the remaining matches of the PSL 5. A decision is expected soon in the matter.
It should be noted that the PCB had announced last month that effective media rights strategies were being drafted for the PSL 2021. However, no developments have been made in this regard.
