Lahore Qalandars have suffered an injury setback as English all-rounder Liam Dawson has been ruled out of the remaining matches of HBL Pakistan Super League.

The all-rounder suffered an ankle injury during Qalandars’ clash against arch-rivals Karachi Kings on Sunday in Karachi, which the away team lost by 67 runs.

“Disappointed to be ruled out of the rest of the PSL due to injury. Thank you Lahore Qalandars for the opportunity to play in Pakistan again. Good luck for the remaining games,” Dawson posted on his Instagram story.

Dawson will need four to six weeks of rest. Hence, Qalandars are now looking for a replacement for the English cricketer for the rest of the tournament.

The injury list in HBL PSL 8 is growing as Karachi Kings pacer, Mohammad Amir, has also been ruled out of their next match due to a groin injury.

Kings are scheduled to take on Mutan Sultans on Wednesday, February 22 in Multan. The pacer will not travel with the squad to Multan and will instead complete his rehab in Karachi.

Earlier, Mir Hamza was also ruled out of the rest of the tournament. The left-arm pacer fractured his finger during Karachi’s first match against Peshawar Zalmi on Tuesday. He was replaced by another left-arm pacer, Akif Javed, in the squad.
