Limited number of fans are likely to attend the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six matches, in Karachi and Lahore, after approval by National Command Operation Center (NCOC).
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Wasim Khan meet the NCOC officials in Islamabad and briefed them about board’s plans for allowing fans back into the stadiums amid Covid-19 pandemic.
The PCB chief assured NCOC that Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be strictly followed for the safety of everyone involved.
After the government’s approval, the announcement in this regard is likely to be made by February 4.
PCB Director Media Samiul Hasan Burney also confirmed that a “positive development” has taken place with regards to presence of fans during PSL 6 matches.
Karachi Kings will begin from where they finished their successful Pakistan Super League 2020 campaign by facing 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators in the opening match of the 2021 edition at the National Stadium on February 20.
The 30-day 34-match tournament will conclude with the final at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on March 22.
