Historically speaking, Pakistan players have always remained a big part of the English counties with the likes of Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Waqar Younis along with many others participating over the course of the years.
This year is no different as nine players hailing from Pakistan are currently signed by various counties for the 2022 season.
Opening batsman Shan Masood was one of the first ones to be picked up by Derbyshire where he will be teamed up with former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur.
Naseem Shah and Zafar Gohar will enjoy the conditions abroad as they will be representing Gloucestershire whereas seamer Mohammad Abbas will be participating for Hampshire.
National team superstars Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan will butt heads when Middlesex faces off against Sussex while speedster Haris Rauf and all-rounder Shadab Khan will be part of Yorkshire's squad.
Veteran Azhar Ali will feature for Worcestershire while Hasan Ali became the latest signing for Lancashire.
Having Pakistan players feature for English counties gives them the ability to groom themselves as well-rounded players because the conditions are much different than back home.
Furthermore, since the majority of the players signed by the counties are still part of Pakistan's national team, it gives them a better idea of the conditions once they travel for international duty as well.
