Major cities such as Karachi and Lahore are set to be excluded from the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) governing board. Instead, representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Larkana, Bahawalpur, and Dera Murad Jamali are expected to be included.

The board will consist of four members from different departments, while the remaining two members will be nominated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the details, the PCB Management Committee has elected an eight-member Board of Governors, with the announcement of the other two members pending from the Prime Minister and Patron-in-Chief, Shehbaz Sharif. This time, the representation on the board will be focused on 16 regions, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Larkana, Bahawalpur, and Dera Murad Jamali.

On behalf of the departments, representatives from Sui Northern Gas, Sui Southern Gas, WAPDA, and Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) will join the BOG (Board of Governors). The members will serve a term of three years.

The race for the Chairman of PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) is between Najam Sethi and Zaka Ashraf. There is a strong possibility of the current head of the management committee securing a permanent appointment.

However, according to sources, if President of the People's Party Asif Ali Zardari's demand is accepted by the leader of the Muslim League-Nawaz, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, then the return of Zaka Ashraf is also not beyond the realm of possibility. It is possible that a notification regarding this matter will be issued as early as next week.
