The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has begun renovations at the National Bank Stadium Karachi (NBSK) in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to begin in February 2025.
Currently, demolition is in progress from the Naseem-ul-Ghani Enclosure to the Iqbal Qasim Enclosure using heavy machinery.
Furthermore, the manual scoreboard tower is being dismantled to make way for a new structure that will feature media boxes, seating for broadcasters, and a dedicated area for commentators.
New hospitality boxes and a media gallery will also be constructed in this revamped space.
Construction work will be temporarily halted during the duration of the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, scheduled to take place in Karachi later this month, and will resume once the day concludes.
Pakistan is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 from February to March across three major cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
Group A will include Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B features Australia, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a budget of approximately $70 million for Pakistan to host the tournament.
