West Indies are set to face England in a three-match Test series as part of their World Test Championship 2023-2025 campaign
West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph and left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie encountered unexpected travel delays due to Hurricane Beryl, which has caused significant distress in the Caribbean.
Their flight from Guyana was canceled, resulting in a late arrival to join the West Indies Test squad in England.
As a consequence, both Joseph and Motie missed the three-day warm-up game against the First Class Counties XI, which began in Beckenham on Wednesday.
However, Motie managed to land in London later that day, while Joseph is expected to arrive on Friday. This timeline ensures that both players will be ready for the first Test at Lord's, starting on July 10.
Shamar Joseph, who made headlines with a stunning performance against Australia in Brisbane in January, is anticipated to play a crucial role in the upcoming series. He will be part of a formidable fast-bowling unit led by Alzarri Joseph following Kemar Roach's recent withdrawal due to injury.
Additionally, Jayden Seales is likely to complete the trio of fast bowlers for the three-match series, given his impressive form in the second division of county cricket. Seales has claimed 24 wickets in six matches at an average of 24.25, including two five-wicket hauls.
